Being spontaneous and creative opens our energy field and raises our vibration. When we use our imagination and express ourselves in new and inventive ways, great things can open up for us.
So, what actually is it? Creativity is something original that comes from within; it requires curiosity, energy and the openness to see connections where others can’t. More than anything it requires us to use our imagination, as this is the source of all creativity within us.
The idea that humans are uniquely creative beings goes back at least as far as the ancient Greeks. Aristotle considered creativity to be a gift from the Gods; something that didn’t arise during rational thought, but manifested when one was ‘bereft of his senses’.
This idea of ‘psychological distance’ is something that Shamans have been tapping into for centuries. Letting go of rational or logical thought and allowing our imagination to take over is one of the strongest ways to connect with Source, and your spirit guides will reward you for it.
Creativity can be expressed in an infinite number of ways; doodling on a piece of paper, dancing around your living room freely, calming your toddler down by making them laugh or simply finding a new solution to a problem at work for example.
It cannot be taught or learned but it can be practiced and harnessed. How? Be curious, take risks, put yourself in a new situation, brainstorm, explore, challenge yourself, look for inspiration and if the creative juices just aren’t flowing, take a break and come back later.
Most importantly, creativity can be incorporated into almost everything we do so whenever you have a few spare minutes or you’re faced with a situation that needs a creative solution, take a moment to shut your eyes and let the creativity flow… our imagination has no limits.
